Aishwarya Rai - The rise and rise of the Indian beautyAishwarya Rai is a name that needs no introduction. She catapulted to global fame after she won the Miss World pageant in 1994 and stamped her authority over the beauty empire.

Since then, she hasn’t looked back…..never.The Miss World crown paved her way into the showbiz world with her 1st film ‘Iruvar’ being helmed by the renowned director  Mani Ratnam.

Her mesmerizing face and unparalleled beauty ensured that she got a call from Bollywood. She embarked on her Bollywood sojourn with a relatively calmer ‘Aur Pyar Ho Gaya’ opposite Bobby Deol when he was basking in his hay days.

Though, the film didn’t quite rattle the box office, her shimmering presence was noticeable as she got flooded with films from both small and big banners. Her ultimate glory came with.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ which was a block buster love triangle featuring hottie Salman Khan  and dusky Ajay Devgan as the male protagonists. She bagged all the major awards for that film but more importantly, got embroiled in a romantic liaison with co-star Salman Khan.

What followed was a period of darkness and scandals as her relationship with Salman soured, culminating into life-long bitterness as another actor Vivek Oberoi entered her life. However, after an acidic conflict between the two actors (that was relished by the tabloids)

Aishwarya swam out of the murky waters and continued her celluloid journey with meatier roles in films like ‘Devdas’, ‘Dhoom 2’, ‘Jodha Akbar’, ‘Mohabbatein’ and the likes.Soon, she bumped into actor Abhishek Bachchan (son of the legendary Sir Amitabh Bachchan) and even though the sparks weren’t immediate, they eventually fell in love and tied the knot.Currently, the duo are.

One happy couple as is evident from their snuggles and cuddles in public places. 2010 saw ‘Raavan’ that featured the two but fell flat on the cash registers and was beheaded by the critics. Aishwarya’s next release is the bi-lingual film ‘Endhiran’ or ‘The Robot’ that would hit theatres this September.

Besides, her dream run with actor Hrithik and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali looks all set to continue with ‘Guzaarish’ to be unleashed soon. Thus, at near-37, the deity of beauty continues to sizzle and hypnotize the bewitched spectators from both sides of the Atlantic……..
