The hype surrounding the birth of Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's first child has gone into overdrive, particularly over the demand for photographs of the daughter of arguably Bollywood's most famous couple.
Abhishek and Aishwarya welcomed their first child together on Nov. 16 and since then the media have been after the family, trying to get photographs of the ninth member of the clan, one born with the proverbial silver spoon in her mouth.
Despite unsuccessful attempts to sneak a photograph by posting camera crews at the hospital overnight, the media, it seems, are reluctant to give up and are determined to get Beti B's first photographs, one way or the other. In addition, rumors suggest that two international magazines are also in the race for the first photographs and have reportedly quoted an astronomical price of Rs. 5 crores!
"Everyone is clamouring for Baby B's pictures, especially international magazines, which are fighting it out among themselves," an unnamed source told Daily News and Analysis."They have lined up a good offer of a minimum of Rs. 5 crore for the same. It looks like the magazines have apparently got in touch with the manager and publicist of the Bachchans with their offer," the source continued.
It shouldn't be a surprise that people are curious to see just what the newest Bachchan, described by her grandfather as a baby with an "angelic face" and light-hued beautiful eyes, just like her Miss World-winning mother, looks like, particularly with all the morphed photographs of the mother and child floating around on the Internet.
Nevertheless, the family seems firm about not releasing photographs, citing "personal" reasons. "To those that clamour for baby's picture, I have said it before, it will not be happening ... do understand, it's personal," Amitabh tweeted. Well, it will be quite interesting to watch who does finally gets these sought after photographs... and when. Stay tuned!
