Abhishek Bachchan's interesting act with wife Aishwarya Rai: Before taking on the exclusive tag of Mr. and Mrs. Bachchan, they found themselves together in a couple of romantic movies namely; “Dhai Akshar Prem Ke” and “Kuch Naa Kaho”. They gelled well as friends but no romance or passion bloomed because their respective interests were different.

While it is difficult to say when and how the first passion of love bloomed? But some attribute to the time when Ash made it for the scintillating item number ‘Kajra Re’ in the company of both Senior and junior Bachchan. By the time they made it in “Umrao Jaan”, “Dhoom2” and “Guru”, the couple was knee deep in love. The passion in real life was aptly brought out by the couple’s depth and intensity of expression on reel. This holds particularly true for “Umrao Jaan” where the couple saw themselves breathing in the exuberance of passion. Though the film which was a remake of a previous version failed at the box office, both were appreciated for their acting.
Following their over hyped marriage; the couple saw themselves together in two unconventional films. While Ram Gopal Verma’s “Sarkar Raj” was a success, their togetherness failed to create the expected impact in “Ravaan’’. After the failure of Mani Ranam’s “Ravaan” at the box office, the couple refrained from making it together on reel.
In the wake of Abhishek’s announcement from Russia, the viewers can be all set to see the lovely twosome yet again as part of the much needed comic interlude. First and foremost, they are yet to be seen together in a comedy. Secondly, having worked in a string of serious movies the young hubby needs a comic relief. Abhishek presently shooting for “Players” opposite the sultry Bips seemed excited about the forthcoming comedy.
The oncoming flick to be directed by Raj Kumar Santoshi is supposed to portray dashing thirty five year old as Ash’s hubby. Though Abhi refrained from diverging a great deal about the script, it seems that the comic element will emerge from the husband’s character. He is supposed to be an unsatisfied one with a wandering eye. In all likelihood, the wife will also cajole him into such a venture. Having gone through its script and content, both found it to their liking.
Abhishek had a mixed season with the failure of “Game” and the relative success of “Dum Maro Dum’’. In course of the online interview from Russia, the hero made it adequately clear that he had no qualms about the ending of the film. An action packed thriller, “Dum Maro Dum” ends with the death of the Assistant Commissioner of Police Vishnu Kamath (the role played by Abhishek). According to the star he was a part of its creative process and thus he has no reason to complain.
It will be great seeing the real life couple on screen together. Only time will be the best judge in deciding if their given venture in comedy will laugh its way to the audience. Perhaps the change in genre from romance and thriller to comedy will work out for the gorgeous couple.
