The 38-year-old stunner was dressed in a Manish Malhotra creation, an emerald green kalidaar that reached all the way down to her shins. The suit had long sleeves and a V-neck ornate with floral embroidery. The zardozi work was also on the hem and cuffs of the kalidaar.

She teamed it up with a churidaar and a blue net dupatta. In accessories she wore a statement emerald choker necklace. But more than her style and fashion, what caught our eye was the exuberance she exuded. Aishwarya Rai looked decidedly aglow with her newfound motherhood. There’s a wee bit chubbiness to her face and frame as well, but it makes her look all the better. Aishwarya Rai was accompanied to the wedding reception by Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. Apparently, Abhishek Bachchan took up the baby-sitting responsibility for the day.

Bollywood stars flocked to the wedding of Genelia D’Souza and Riteish Deshmukh, which began on Friday and culminated in an elaborate reception at the Grand Hyatt in Mumbai on Saturday evening.

Aishwarya Rai left baby Beti B in the capable hands of husband Abhishek Bachchan, as she attended the glamorous wedding reception of Genelia D’Souza and Riteish Deshmukh, on Saturday evening. Abhishek had attended the actual nuptials but the couple appear to be taking it turns to stay with Beti B. Aishwarya Rai, accompanied by her parents-in-law Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, joined a host of Bollywood celebrities at the Grand Hyatt, Mumbai, Emirates 247 reported.

The occasion marked one of Aishwarya's first public appearances since giving birth to the still unnamed Beti B in November. Amongst the Bollywood crowd famous names in attendance included Imran Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, and Bipasha Basu.

According to Dna India the Genelia-Riteish wedding took place in the morning at St. Anne’s Church. Genelia looked stunning in a white dress for the wedding, later changing into "a dark peach lehenga with a draped duppata" for the reception. Meanwhile the Times of India reported that Abhishek celebrates his birthday on Sunday, turning 36. He has received a host of birthday wishes on Twitter.

Aishwarya Rai and the Cannes Film Festival have been all but inseparable for the last decade. Aishwarya has been a French Riviera regular ever since her landmark film Devdas was screened there (a first for a commercial Hindi film). But now, after all these years of dominating that famous red carpet, a "new" Bollywood face is set to take Aishwarya's place.

So who will be filling Aishwarya's (incredibly accomplished) shoes this year? Some new up and comer perhaps? A young starlet just beginning her career? Perhaps another Indian beauty queen?

Not quite. Aishwarya's replacement is none other than Karisma Kapoor. Lolo is one of a handful of former Bollywood stars making a comeback this year (fellow comeback queens include Madhuri Dixit and the glorious Sridevi) and her first film after all these years away, Dangerous Ishq, will be making a showing at Cannes.

Thanks to Aishwarya Rai's decision to stay out of the public eye for the rest of the year to care for Beti B, Karisma Kapoor won't suffer the fate of other Indian actresses who have forayed to France--namely being overshadowed by Mrs. Bachchan.

Speaking of Aishwarya Rai, wonder what she thinks about handing over the title of India's Queen of Cannes to Lolo. Karisma was, after all, engaged at one point to Aishwarya's husband, Abhishek Bachchan; and Karisma's sister, Kareena Kapoor, is currently filming for Heroine, the film that was snatched away from Aishwarya when she became pregnant.

Regardless of the Cannes trip, it's great to have Karisma Kapoor back in the film business again. She was always known as a lovely and talented young woman and it was a shame when she gave up her career in exchange for married life. Now a whole new generation of fans will have a chance to see her on screen!

The January edition of Elegant Living magazine, has none other than Aishwarya Rai on its cover. The edition of the a US-based lifestyle publication is being touted as a special Indian edition. So, did Aishwarya Rai Bachchan really tear herself off from her darling 2-month old daughter to shoot for the magazine's cover, asks Celebs.gather.?

Fact or not, the news spread like wildfire on the net over the weekend. The web has been abuzz with speculation that she might have posed for the cover after the birth of her daughter or she might have done the shoot while she was pregnant last year. However, those speculations are just that. For, Aishwarya looks quite slim and trim unlike her real-life image in recent years.

A quick search of the photo on the internet reveals the same image on various websites. In the image, Aishwarya is wearing a white suit and a hat with feathers. Elegant Living probably put Ash's face on the cover as a marketing gimmick and get her fans to buy a copy of the magazine in the hope that it contains the latest pics of the Bachchan daughter-in-law and her 'Bitiya', as Amitabh Bachchan refers to his grand daughter.

Now, it is no secret that entire India and the Bachchan clan's fans globally are dying to get a glimpse of Beti B , know her name and generally get an idea on what is going on in the Bachchan household in Mumbai's Juhu and what is delaying the formal naming of the baby. The magazine obviously tries to cash-in on the hype surrounding the Bachchan family, criticises the website.

The fact is that far from rushing off for a shoot and leaving her daughter behind at the mercy of a care giver, Aishwarya Rai is actually looking after her two-month-old daughter all by herself. She has refused to keep a nanny and is looking after all her daughter's needs, which include feeding, bathing and even massaging the little one, proud hubby Abhishek Bachchan revealed recently.

Of course, Bollywood's first family's other members are there to entertain her. Ash is expected to take a long time off from work and is enjoying her turn at motherhood.

Aishwarya has also been keeping away from the social circuit to concentrate on her daughter. Her fans got a rare peek when Ash and the rest of the Bachchan clan drove out of their Juhu residence with Oprah Winfrey in tow, to attend a party thrown in her honour.

Abhishek also told the Indian magazine Filmfare during his interview that Ash is enjoying the bonding time with her baby and loves doing little things for their daughter. Lucky 'Beti B'!

Will the queen of chat show introduce Bollywood's Bachchan family's newest member, Bet B to the world? If certain media reports in India are to be belived, it could well be true. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has already appeared on the famous Oprah Winfrey show twice. Once by herself and again with her not-so-hot hubby, Abhishek Bachchan.

Oprah Winfrey, on her recent maiden visit to India, went to meet Beti B straight from the airport to the Bachchan home in Juhu, even before stepping into the social scene in Mumbai. That speaks volumes about the importance of being 'Beti B'.

Oprah refused to give away 'Beti B's' official name to the media. She simply responded, "I'll just call her Princess. She's beautiful."Amithabh Bachchan lated tweeted: "The gracious Oprah Winfrey visits our home, to meet us and bless the baby...warm hearted, endearing...drive her to the party in her honour. And Oprah in sari... looking lovely!!" Winfrey's visit to the country was in connection with her new talk show, "Next Chapter". She also attened the Literary Festival in Jaipur.

Though Oprah Winfrey has been extremely tight lipped about her visit to Aishwarya Rai and the Bachchan household, she revealed that Aishwarya's baby is gorgeous.

Oprah Winfrey, who recently visited Aishwarya Rai was one among the few lucky people to have a glimpse of Aishwarya and Abhishek's daughter. When Hindustan Times insisted on her view of Beti B, Oprah Winfrey said, “She is gorgeous, even with her eyes closed.”

Well, that's the only reply that the media could get from the chat show queen about Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai's baby. What one can gather from this is that Beti B was fast asleep during the one hour that Oprah spent with the Bachchan family.

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan’s 2-months’-old ‘Beti B’ has got a new name. Oprah called the baby girl, a ‘Princess’. According to reports, Winfrey pampered the baby and adoringly named her ‘Princess’.

Oprah Winfrey an American Talk Show host, actress, producer and philanthropist, is on her visit to India for her new Talk Show ‘Next Chapter’. Oprah on arriving at the Mumbai Airport was keen to meet Aishwarya and her daughter, as she has kept meeting Beti B in her priority list. She stopped at Jalsa for a visit to Bachchan’s house to see Aishwarya and her baby.

Oprah is regarded as one of the closest friends of Aishwarya.  Sources close to the family say that Aishwarya had been in touch with Oprah after she appeared on her chat show and as promised, Oprah met the actress on her visit to India.

The lady spent around an hour at the Bachchan’s residence. Oprah’s main motive to meet Bachchans was to congratulate them for the new addition to their family and to meet their tiny tot, Beti B.

Oprah had a wonderful time with the Bachchans. She bestowed the affectionate nickname, ‘Princess’ to Beti B shortly before taking off with Aishwarya, Amitabh, Jaya, and Abhishek for a huge party hosted by Indian industrialist and philanthropist Parmeshwar Godrej.

Winfrey wore a bright orange and magenta coloured sari with golden border in it, gifted by Bachchan Bahu, Aishwarya. She looked stunning in the traditional Indian attire.

B-town’s biggies like Shah Rukh Khan,Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Priyanka Chopra, and Lara Dutta and the entire Bachchan family attended the huge party.

Thrilled Amitabh Bachchan, who drove Oprah from her residence to the party, “The gracious Oprah Winfrey visits our home, to meet us and bless the baby…warm hearted, endearing…drive her to the party in her honour. And Oprah in sari..looking lovely!!” he tweeted.

Aishwarya Rai is as pretty as a flower. In fact, she is beautiful enough to have had a flower named after her. Can you guess what flower it was? Here's a hint: It's native to Holland and has made the country known as a tourist destination.

Still not sure? Well, here is the answer: It's a tulip. Aish had a pink tulip named after her in 2005 on a visit to Amsterdam, Netherlands.

"Herewith I give you the tulip—the symbol of the tourist destination Holland. This tulip represents all the beautiful things of Holland. This tulip will be named after one of the most beautiful women in the world—Aishwarya Rai,"said the Dutch minister of tourism.

Aishwarya Rai isn't the only one to have a flower named after her. It seems to be a trend to name a flower after a celebrity, no doubt to draw people to a city, state, or country.

Kate Middleton and Prince William also had flowers named after them recently, with Kate getting a version of the white rose and Wills getting a sweet pea.
